DOCUMENTA is a non-profit organization founded in 1996. It has participated in more than 70 European projects and collaborated with over 230 partners from 27 countries.

Over the years, DOCUMENTA has built an interdisciplinary professional team that combines reflection and action across various lines of work, with the main goal of implementing a sustainable, intelligent, and responsible local development model in the areas where it operates.

DOCUMENTA works in four main areas:

  • Applied Social Research. Knowledge management through the creation of theoretical models and tools; sharing of know-how; collection of information and Best Practices; establishment of Information and Resource Centers. Concepts such as Intelligent and Responsible Territories, Sustainability, the Doughnut Economy, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are part of this area of action.
  • Tourism, Cultural, and Environmental Sectors. In this field, we work with participatory methodologies and the creation of Virtual Learning Environments; we also define new professional profiles and training curricula; provide specialized employment-oriented training; support business creation and promote an entrepreneurial culture.
  • Social Economy, Third Sector, and Equal Opportunities. This line of action focuses on social participation and citizen empowerment, emphasizing the promotion of Intelligent and Responsible Citizenship and the creation of Participatory Citizens’ Schools. Migration, equal opportunities, and social inclusion and integration are cross-cutting themes in this area.
  • Euromanagement, Social Capital, and Networking. This area enables us to work in-depth on: the design, management, and evaluation of European projects; communication, dissemination, and awareness plans; generation of social capital; and the creation and strengthening of local, national, and international networks.
