SustainTour has reached an important milestone with the first consolidated draft of the Competence Framework for the Sustainable Tourism Advisor profile: a new professional role supporting the transition to more sustainable tourism practices.
Building on the national reports for Albania and Kosovo, transnational analysis, and insights from the Brainstorming Workshop in Tirana, partners are now working together to review and refine the Framework, which defines what Sustainable Tourism Advisors should know and be able to do.
The SustainTour team of “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës (UAMD), Albania — Prof. Dr. Ermira Qosja, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirela Tase, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevila Çinaj, and Dr. Gentian Ruspi — is actively contributing to this process, bringing reflections on quality, relevance, and practical application within the Western Balkans context.
Aligned with EQF Level 5, the Framework sets out the key competences and learning outcomes and will guide the next project step: the development of the SustainTour curriculum.
